By creating an account or using PetMate, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account and use PetMate. By using the app, you confirm that you meet this requirement.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to provide accurate information about yourself and your pets.
You agree not to: post false, misleading, or fraudulent pet or profile information; harass, threaten, or abuse other users; share another person's contact information without consent; use the app for any illegal purpose, including buying or selling animals in violation of local law; attempt to access another user's account; or use automated tools to access or scrape the app.
You retain ownership of the photos, text, and other content you upload ("User Content"). By posting content, you grant PetMate a non-exclusive license to display that content within the app for the purpose of operating the service, such as showing your pet's profile to other users. You are solely responsible for ensuring you have the right to post any content you upload.
PetMate facilitates connections between pet owners but does not organize, supervise, or verify in-person meetups. You are solely responsible for your safety and decisions when arranging or attending a meetup with another user. We strongly recommend meeting in public places and informing a friend or family member of your plans. PetMate is not liable for any incident, injury, dispute, or loss arising from a meetup arranged through the app.
Adoption posts are created by users and are not verified or endorsed by PetMate. We do not guarantee the accuracy of any adoption listing, the health or history of any animal listed, or the legitimacy of any user posting or responding to a listing. Users interacting through adoption listings do so at their own risk and discretion.
PetMate does not perform background checks, identity verification, or health/vaccination verification on users or pets. Any information suggesting otherwise within a profile is provided solely by the user and is unverified.
You may report or block other users who violate these Terms or make you feel unsafe. We reserve the right to investigate reports and to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, at our sole discretion.
You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account if we believe you have violated these Terms, engaged in harmful conduct, or for any other reason at our discretion, with or without notice.
PetMate is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that you will find a match or successful adoption through the app.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, PetMate and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including but not limited to damages resulting from meetups, adoptions, or interactions with other users.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
